I use Overcast.fm, it is by far the best podcast player. They have a great feature called SmartSpeed! It automatically cuts out dead air and unnoticeably speeds up the listening. The biggest life-hack in my life has been SmartSpeed and listening at 2X+. Try it and thank me later. Also see what I'm "reading" in Books.
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - Overcast
I was not into history until I stumbled upon Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. These epic podcasts' range from 2-4 hours and from single episodes to six part series! I started with King of Kings and Wrath of the Khans but they are no longer available for free/streaming.

Science Vs - New Season - Overcast
A new podcast that separates science from fiction and seems to do so really well. Tackles interesting topics with an Australian accent.
Waking Up with Sam Harris - Overcast
This guy... I love this guy. He is the most rational thinker I have ever heard. He has changed my default opinion multiple times. He dialogues with really smart people and you get to listen in! Also there is a good chance you will disagree with him on a visceral level.
The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe - Overcast
I found this podcast and blog by looking up the author of one of my favorite Books, Scientific Guide to Critical Thinking. It's a really good overview of current events from a skeptic's point of view.
This one is more entertainment than not... but you learn some because it's two nerds trying to figure stuff out and tell interesting stories.
